Holiday Closures 2024

Our NBMG public office will be closed to walk-in visitors for two separate weeks in November and December.

Closed November 25–29, 2024 (Thanksgiving Closure)
Closed December 23, 2024 through January 1, 2025 (Winter Closure)


Shipments may be delayed during the Holiday Season. Please plan accordingly.

If you need to view core, cuttings, or air photos, please contact Rachel Micander (rmicander@unr.edu) at least two full weeks before the closures and we will do our best to set up an appointment.

The Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology Publication Sales and Information Offices are now located
at the Great Basin Science Sample and Records Library.

The building also houses the Geological Society of Nevada.

Be sure to check our our rock garden during your visit to GBSSRL!


Directions:

Take U.S. Highway 395 north of Reno, take the Dandini/Parr Boulevard exit and turn right (east) on Dandini Boulevard, continue right (south) on Raggio Parkway. The GBSSRL is the first building on the left at 2175 Raggio Parkway.
